Common Good Atlanta (CGA) provides incarcerated and formerly incarcerated people with access to higher education by connecting Georgia’s colleges and professors with Georgia’s prison classrooms. We believe that broad, democratic access to higher education for prison-impacted people strengthens the common good of our communities.
Common Good Atlanta professors are the backbone of our community. They have helped make higher education possible by volunteering their time and energy to support CGA's core mission. We work with individual professors for amazing colleges across Georgia, including, Emory University, Kennesaw State University, Morehouse College, Georgia Tech, University of Georgia, and Georgia State University. Over the past 14 years, CGA has worked with more than 60 college professors to provide more than 4,000 hours of instruction to incarcerated people in four Georgia prisons.
