Moving Forward and Expanding Opportunities

Common Good Atlanta's journey began with a vision to provide higher education opportunities to incarcerated individuals. Starting with just one location, our founders recognized the immense potential for growth and transformation within prisons that higher education might facilitate. Over time, the dedication and impact of the CGA community has led to the expansion of our programs to six locations, reaching incarcerated individuals across the state with the goal of bridging the gap between prison classrooms and college campuses and offering transformative educational experiences that change lives.

Throughout our time, fostering deep and meaningful relationships with incarcerated students has been at the heart of our work. Our faculty recognize the importance of building trust and creating a supportive community within the prison walls. By cultivating an environment where students feel valued, heard, and respected, we continue to move forward and expand opportunities.

At Common Good Atlanta, we believe that broad, democratic access to higher education strengthens the common good of all communities and plays a key role in helping restore dignity and reconnect people to their own humanity. Our shared humanity connects us to one another, and education is essential for both strengthening civil society and enabling individuals to transform their lives.
